Our vision goes beyond providing basic support; we strive to create comprehensive resources that help seniors make the most of their later years. Every step we take is guided by this mission, reflecting our dedication to enhancing the lives of our members.
From Humble Beginnings to a Thriving Community
Since its inception on September 12, 2023, at the Holiday Park Senior Center in Silver Spring, Maryland, the Mabuhay Foundation has experienced remarkable growth. Originally known as the Mabuhay Senior Group, we have expanded from a small gathering to a thriving foundation with over 150 members. This transformation is a testament to our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our community and providing a supportive, inclusive environment.
Our offerings have diversified to include a wide range of activities designed to promote physical health, mental well-being, and social engagement. From Zumba Gold classes and engaging games to activities that foster inclusivity and social interaction, we are dedicated to ensuring our members lead active, fulfilling lives. Additionally, we have introduced services such as elderly daycare and long-term care, reflecting our ongoing commitment to supporting our members’ diverse needs.
Leadership Driving Positive Change
Our success is guided by a dedicated leadership team. Chairman Rita Manalo-Hammond, along with Board of Directors members Amelita Pascual, KC Ramirez, Marie Miranda, and Red Bautista, provides the vision and expertise necessary to drive our mission forward. President/CEO Ria Manalo-Hammond, Treasurer Marie Pierre Mirand, and CFO Michael Penaflor of MSP & Associates play crucial roles in ensuring the foundation’s continued success and growth.

The Introduction event was not just a presentation but a celebration of our vibrant community and the diverse activities we offer:

- Day Trips and Holiday Celebrations: Including Thanksgiving and Christmas activities.
- Regular Bingo Socials and Themed Events: Such as Valentine’s Day, designed to foster community and joy.
